China has welcomed the agreement reached between the US and Iran to end their conflict and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said Beijing hopes the first-phase memorandum of understanding will be signed as scheduled and called on all parties to choose peace and resolve differences through dialogue. Lin also said China hopes security and free passage through the Strait of Hormuz can be restored as soon as possible, describing stability in the vital shipping route
