Palantir Just Exposed Nvidia's Biggest Weakness, Which Should Be on Full Display on Nov. 19 The sky-high addressable opportunity presented by artificial intelligence (AI) has sent shares of Palantir Technologies and Nvidia soaring by 2,870% and 1,260%, respectively, since 2023 began.
Dr. Michael Burry, the brilliant investor and trader who bet against the housing market before the Great Financial Crisis market meltdown, recently disclosed his new positions, which include massive bets against notable AI high-flyers Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) and Palantir (NASDAQ:PLTR).
The two companies he’s shorting are the ones making all the money, which is super weird,” Alex Karp told CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on Tuesday.
Nvidia is the most valuable company in the world, and it's not cheap. It trades at a P/E ratio of 53 and a price-to-sales ratio of 28. Nvidia bulls will point to its ever-expanding opportunity and central role in all of AI, making it worth the premium valuation.
The next wave of tech wealth may come from a group of lesser-known names in technology and defense, many of which are using artificial intelligence to drive growth.
