The government shutdown entered its 38th day Friday, grounding nearly 1,000 flights and delaying about 3,000 more across the United States, according to federal aviation officials.
Though the airport functioned mostly as normal, travel woes are expected to grow worse in coming days as the record-breaking shutdown drags into its second month.
The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority is organizing a donation drive from Nov. 4 to Nov. 7 to support federal airport partners affected by the government shutdown.
