An earthquake of magnitude 6.5 struck offshore Atacama, Chile, on Tuesday, a day after an even stronger quake in the area, the U.S. Geological Survey said on Tuesday.

A tsunami was not expected after a 6.6 magnitude earthquake struck in sea southeast of Easter Island, Chile, the U.S. Tsunami Warning Center said.
