It was a high-scoring affair for the Quincy Blue Devils in their Class 6A first round matchup with Crete-Monee on Saturday.

It was a busy Saturday on both sides of the river as area high school cross country teams competed in districts in Missouri and sectionals in Illinois.

In the boys division, juniors Rhett Hayes and Zach Locke placed 11th and 27th, respectively, both punching their tickets to the State Championships as well.

The next era of travel from Quincy Regional Airport began on Saturday with Contour Airlines' inaugural flight to Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.
