The NCAA found that Tucker and his former staff failed to properly oversee the program, resulting in violations involving three ineligible players. Investigators determined that staff arranged impermissible recruiting inducements and benefits, covered unofficial visit expenses and engaged in improper contact with recruits.

The NCAA put Michigan State’s football program on three years of probation and penalized the school $30,000 plus 1.5% of the team’s budget after agreeing former staff members under coach Mel Tucker broke rules regarding recruiting inducements and benefits,

Penn State, which has become a regular in these parts, nearly escaped the Bottom 25 in Week 11 while hosting No. 2 Indiana. However, the Nittany Lions suffered heartbreak once again, as they couldn't hold on to a late lead against the visiting Hoosiers in a 27-24 loss. We did reward Penn State for its valiant effort by moving it up seven spots.

The Spartans are on a bye week, meaning they won't play a game until Saturday, Nov. 15. That game, a home matchup against Penn State, kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET and will air on CBS and the Big Ten Network.
