Israel accuses Hamas of violating the ceasefire as the group's civil defence agency says nine people have been killed in the strikes.

Vice President JD Vance visited Israel on Tuesday, with special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, to give an update on the Israel-Hamas peace deal in Gaza. They describe the ceasefire as "durable" despite recent fighting.

Israel has accused Hamas of violating the ceasefire by allegedly withholding remains of hostages. Hamas has repeatedly stated that it is difficult to locate all the bodies of the hostages because many are buried under the rubble of Israeli-destroyed infrastructure.

Israel’s attack also sparked striking rhetorical solidarity among the six-member Gulf Cooperation Council — led by its heavyweights, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar — and accelerated a dramatic shift in Gulf states’ perception of the Jewish state.
