Stargazers have the chance to see multiple meteor showers this month. The first meteor shower, the Northern Taurid Meteor Shower, will peak on Nov. 12.
Skygazers, get ready for an active night sky this week and next. Following the supermoon last week, we've also got three annual meteor showers happening right now: the Northern Taurids, which peaks Tuesday night;
Fingers crossed that we get a no-clouds forecast - or at least partly-cloudy skies - for a few nights during the next week so we can take advantage of a nice overlap in the peak weeks of two fall meteor showers. At least one of the these showers is known for flashing some fireballs across the sky. So, don’t forget to look up when you’re outside.
Stargazers can look forward to bright fireballs lighting up the November sky as the Earth passes through debris left by comet 2P/Encke.
Of the three November meteor showers, Leonids should be the most active. It is fed by the Tempel-Tuttle Comet, which can produce some dense debris clouds, resulting in very strong showers. Leonids is set to peak on Nov. 16-17.
In just a week, Oklahomans will have a chance to see two meteor showers peak in the night sky all within a week of each other.

The Taurids Meteor Shower, which enchants sky watchers every year from late October through November, is soon set to reach its peak. The Taurids are named after the constellation Taurus, the point in the sky from which they appear to radiate. This meteor shower is actually made up of two separate streams - the Northern and Southern Taurids.
