Zohran Mamdani stormed to victory in the New York City mayoral elections with a pledge to improve the quality of life for the city’s eight and half million residents.

During his campaign, Mamdani visited a Clinton Hill senior center and took time to listen to residents' concerns. Ester Geddis, who was photographed with Mamdani during the visit, is living on a fixed income. She said she hopes he'll help keep costs down.

Mamdani's Queens apartment was the subject of scrutiny during the campaign. He will now be getting a major upgrade.
