Orlando International Airport is among the 40 airports where air traffic is set to be cut by the Federal Aviation Administration amid an ongoing government shutdown, according to a list obtained by News 6.

Orlando International Airport (MCO) says it has not received official word from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) about any reduction in flight activity as part of the ongoing federal government shutdown.

The secretary of transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration have announced that starting Friday, there will be a 10% reduction in air traffic at 40 U.S. airports as the government shutdown continues. The Orlando International Airport was included among the 40 airports. MCO cutting 10% of its flights a day would impact about 100 flights.

WFTV has learned that Orlando International Airport is one of the 40 airports across the country that will experience a 10% reduction of flights by the FAA.

At this time, MCO is seeing only a few delays and cancellations, partially due to weather elsewhere in the country, an airport spokesperson said.
